Brickscapes

Scope of Work: The client wanted a firepit with bench seating connecting off their back deck.  The project turned out better than they could have imagined.

Unusual Problems Encountered: Getting the water out!  we had to drill weep holes through the wall – which you can’t even notice because we drilled them at a 45% angle.

Evergreen Hardscaping

Scope of Work: Homeowner wanted a patio area adjacent to their swimming pool.  The biggest obstacle was the elevation changes in the yard.  9’ vertical drop over 60’.  Installed Harvest Blend Terrace wall to raise the patio area.  There are two sets of steps running from the raised patio down to the pool area.  (1 set on each side of the patio).  There is a staircase leading down from the back door to the patio area.  Patio is Harvest Blend Old Towne Cobble.

Unusual Problems Encountered: There was a total of 9’ elevation change from the back door to the back property line.  We needed to install a 3’ high staircase to get from the house to the raised patio, and then needed to have another (6) steps leading down to the pool area (which accounted for another 3’ drop).  From there the pool area has an additional 3’ of drop down to the back property line.

Private Paradise Construction, Inc

Scope of Work: We were hired to build an outdoor space that would expand Fred’s business, as well as provide an entertaining space that would be sure to impress customers.  The project seemed to perfectly fit with the existing building and the custom logo inlay was the icing on the cake.  Our customer was so impressed with our craft that he hired us to do additional work for his other business as well as his residence.

Unusual Problems Encountered: the property used to be an old gas station, and even though the tanks are gone the lines underground remained.  Navigating the maze of pipes to dig our footers was one of the challenges we faced with this project.  The second was the constant flow of customers in and out of the business during our work hours.

Scope of Work: Be able to entertain outside without using all the kid’s grass space and a fire pit was a MUST-HAVE!.

Unusual Problems Encountered: This job was trade; he did the patio for a duck hunting boat. So the wife was ecstatic with the project and she got her garage space back

Green Earth Gardens, LLC

Scope of Work: The homeowner asked: “How can we have a formal but welcoming front entrance path that would be safe for our aging relatives to use when visiting and make some gardening space to take advantage of the sunny exposure?” Green Earth Gardens designed the solution that was in their dreams but not actually revealed during conversation, of course, they were thrilled! Gone are the two-foot wide concrete steps that climbed their driveway edge, the equally steep narrow sidewalk hugging the foundation toward the side of an elevated concrete landing without railings. This crowded entrance did not take advantage of the spacious front yard and was perilous under the winter ice.

Now the clients love to step from the driveway onto the generously-proportioned walkway before ascending the 4 foot wide natural stone steps set into EP Henry pavers. Piers anchor the new front landing and the gracefully curving retaining wall allows the grade to be controlled while creating an accessible “raised-bed” garden. Now they feel very safe coming home in all weather conditions and the affordable pavers allowed them the budget to create the welcoming entrance at the front of their home of their dreams.

Unusual Problems Encountered:  The steep grade at the driveway next to the house made a difficult and sometimes dangerous entrance due to the combination of steep steps and slopes. Although we had to work around a gas line, expanding the scope of the project beyond what the client envisioned provided the solution they really wanted.

Bryn Mawr Landscaping, Inc.

Scope of Work:  Retaining wall to help support existing building and to level off driveway area

Unusual Problems Encountered: We had to use Vertica wall block because we did not have much room between the property line and the building.  We had to set the front of the block on the property line.\

Products Used: Vertica Wall Block – Pewter blend

Darlington Designs

Scope of Work: At the Carosiello Residence we completely restructured their front entrance and walkway by building retaining walls around Landscape beds and building a beautiful front landing with steps.  The design added great curb appeal and a unique layout unlike any other homes.  It tied in beautifully with the Landscaping we also installed and the Night Lighting to illuminate the steps and walls and landscaping.

The customer was very satisfied with the way this installation completely changed the look of the front of their house and added great beauty to a beautiful house.

Unusual Problems Encountered: This client wanted to keep a massive tree in the landscaping that was located directly in front of the house, and it was our job to build this design around the tree.  The tree was great addition to the landscape we incorporated, however the root system was tricky to work around with the walls/walk/landing we built.  We wanted to make sure it was not damaged in anyway.
