The flowable fill also allowed setting the electrical lines for the hot tub and all the fitness equipment. Built the see-thru fireplace to serve as the primary heat source and adds a dramatic centerpiece to the room. The homeowner was extremely satisfied!
Beechwood Landscape Architecture & Construction, LLC
Martin Residence: The client was looking for a design of their rear yard that incorporated a swimming pool, water feature, fire elements, raised terrace with a cook station and bar seating.
A unique design challenge on this project was the golf course building setback requirements for the pool and pool equipment, (25’ rear yard and 15’ side yard). A natural water feature was designed for aesthetics and to conceal the equipment which is located behind the feature and softened with plantings. A copper fire bowl and gas fed fire pit completes the design while adding interest at night.
Green Acre Contracting
Our customer was very satisfied that we were able to meet his goal of protecting four large existing trees, putting as much water as possible back in the ground and preventing any additional rain runoff from his property. The EP Henry fire pit was piped to use either gas or wood. All seating walls, steps and raised patio caps include Integral Wall lighting. The permeable paver system is capable of infiltrating up to 100 inches per hour of rain water.
Unusual Problems Encountered: Creating grades that would match the existing landscape levels with multiple levels of steps from their new deck was a challenge

Darlington Designs
Scope of work: At the Halfpenny residence we constructed an on grade patio around the pool, Hardscape steps from the back door coming down to the patio, and Hardscape steps coming up from the basement. Another space connected to the patio was an elevated pool cabana/outdoor living room. EPH products were used on the floor and on the elaborate fireplace that was a focal point of this space. The patio space does not go all the way around the pool, which allows the landscaping to come to the pool edge on the back of the pool for a more natural feel. We also incorporated the natural boulders in to the coping around the pool. Night lighting was also used to make this outdoor oasis sparkle at night. The design also allows for a future phase of tying in an outdoor kitchen/bar.
Unusual Problems Encountered: The fireplace on this project is massive! Lots of time and intricate details went into this masterpiece, along with an embedded flat screen TV.

Evergreen Hardscaping
Scope of work: Homeowner wanted to add a swimming pool, firepit, water feature, grill area, pergola, low voltage lighting and landscaping. A comprehensive plan was laid out and the project was underway. The pictures will speak for themselves as far as overall description of work that was done. Homeowner was / is 110% satisfied with the installation.
Unusual Problems Encountered: When the pool was dug, there was an enormous granite deposit that needed to be removed. After several attempts drilling with no luck, explosives were brought in to break down the granite formation. Once stone was removed from the hole, the pool was shot and remaining work completed. We utilized all the granite boulders and created a natural stone retaining wall on the top side of the property to keep the upper half of the leveled.

Nature’s Accents Landscape Services, Inc
Scope of Work: The Holben’s worked with our designer to create a casual and relaxing outdoor living space
which would function as an area for family and friends to gather. The two main elements the
clients requested was an area for an outdoor fire pit, where they could comfortably gather and
roast hot dogs and marshmallows, as well as providing extra entertainment space under their
second story deck. Taking their needs into consideration, our designer created spaces for each of
these requests as well as implementing other design elements such as, a custom wooden trellis,
LED landscape lighting, plantings with seasonal interest and naturals stone steps and boulders
Unusual Problems Encountered: Some challenges of the project were logistics and weather. Due to the hard slope to rear of the home, we had to create a temporary driveway to safely have materials delivered to the site and excavated soil removed from the site. The project was finished in late November and due to the sudden change in temperatures, we delayed perennial and turf grass planting until the following spring. Also, extra care was taken with each cut to seamlessly blend natural stone boulders with the pavers.

Texada Landscaping, Inc
Scope of Work: Texada Landscaping was hired by the client to design and install an overall master plan of this Glen Mills, PA home. The design focus was a family retreat that had something for everyone. Since the house and development were new construction, Texada Landscaping had a clean slate to work with. To help scale the front of the house and add dimension, stone seating walls and a sitting area were designed to create a courtyard feel to the front mud room secondary entrance. A larger circular paver pattern and steps were designed to enhance the front door entrance. This helped guide visitors to the front door instead of the mud room entrance. The new front walkway material was EP Henry’s Coventry Harvest Blend pavers and all walls and risers were Environmental Stonework’s (to match existing house) and was edged with EP Henry edge stone. The homeowner loved the EP Henry front walkway paving material so much he decided to use it for the pool patios and coping for the rear yard. Texada Landscaping managed the entire project by working closely with the pool contractor, carpenter and irrigation contractor. Texada Landscaping designed and incorporated several unique spaces and features to the rear yard to include, a covered paver patio porch, a built-in remote controlled fire pit, a pool house with an outdoor fireplace/ entertaining space covered by a custom pergola, an outdoor kitchen, rock slide with boulder insets and intimate sitting areas. Outdoor lighting was incorporated into the paver steps and stone columns, while remote lit tike torches and landscape lighting accentuated the rock slide and planting. All lighting and fire features are controlled by a handheld remote. The client travels a great deal with work and wanted an at home resort style for he and his family to enjoy. The client was extremely happy with the final product and has had many outdoor parties with family and friends! The homeowner has referred Texada Landscaping to many other clients and has contacted us to start the design and installation of an additional property
Unusual Problems Encountered: The rear yard pool drainage was land locked and created complicated drainage conditions. To accommodate the drainage issues, surface drains and underground piping along with water mitigation were installed to insure no water left the site. By using EP Henry pavers, any water issues that might arise in the future could be easily adjusted.
Products Used: Coventry Harvest Blend Pavers
Elite Landscapes & Pavers LLC
Scope of work: Elite Landscapes & Pavers LLC was referred to this homeowner by another satisfied client. The client’s objective was to enhance their existing patio with an elegant pool and multi-level patio space. Elite’s design team developed various design options for the pool, patio and retaining walls. The pool was centrally positioned upon the rear bump out of the home allowing for an upper level patio to be created. A grand set of steps, coupled with winding retaining walls created a magnificent upper view of the pool and an inviting entrance into the pool area. The homeowners were extremely satisfied with the end results.
Unusual Problems Encountered: This project had various obstacles that Elite had to overcome to successfully complete the project. In order for the project to move forward a variance was required due to the existing permeable coverage. Elite was able to develop a design that offered enough space to meet the variance specifications along with satisfying the client’s request. Another hurdle was the elevation variation: a near 6’ of elevation change was existent. The client made it clear they did not want steps with railings: Elite developed a design that worked with the elevation, met the building codes and most importantly satisfied the client.
